Mexican Restaurants Q2 2026 Menu Insights
Independent Mexican restaurants are the single most concentrated Tequila opportunity in the On-Premise — 91% of cocktail menus in these accounts feature at least one Tequila cocktail. Ground Signal analyzed cocktail menus across 9,200+ independent Mexican restaurant accounts nationally to track how brand placements shifted from Q1 to Q2 2026. The result is a clear read on which brands are winning menu features in the channel that matters most to agave, and where challengers are opening ground.
Key Findings Include:
  • Patrón holds the top spot in Tequila at 27% menu share, ten points clear of Don Julio at 17% — but the quarter’s momentum sat with challenger agave brands, with Lalo (2.4%, up 15%), Teremana (2.6%, up 6.1%) and Espolòn (6.5%, up 5.3%) all adding menu features.
  • Empress 1908 was the standout gainer in Gin, growing menu share 54% to 4.2% and landing as the category’s 5th-ranked brand — ahead of established names in a category where the top brand holds just 6.7%.
  • Bourbon drove Whiskey momentum across the channel, with Bulleit (5.0%, up 14%), Buffalo Trace (4.1%, up 15%) and Jim Beam (3.6%, up 16%) each gaining placements — a notable move in a category present on only 28% of cocktail menus in these accounts.
