California Q2 2026 Menu Insights
Ground Signal’s latest Menu Analysis edition examines cocktail menu placements in California’s On-Premise, drawing from roughly 10,000 cocktail menues— spanning both independent and chain/national accounts. This edition compares Q2 2026 to Q2 2025, tracking Year-over-Year shifts in menu share across six spirits categories: Vodka, Tequila, Rum, Gin, Whiskey, and Liqueur.
Summary Findings:
  • Lemon Drop Martini is having a breakout year, gaining 452% in Vodka menu share (now on 18% of Vodka cocktail menus) and a striking 731% in Liqueur menu share (now 9.5%) — a rare cross-category surge for a single cocktail.
  • Maker’s Mark overtook Jameson to become California’s top-ranked Whiskey brand, climbing to 14% menu share (+19% YoY) and claiming the #1 spot.
  • Lalo posted the fastest growth among established Tequila brands, up 92% YoY to 3.8% menu share as it continues building presence on California menus.
